PLANTS OF THE ELEGANTE CRATER RIM

The presence of large rocks and mineral particles of variable sizes provides environments in which many types of plant can grow on the crater rim. Seen here (foreground) are ocotillo, creosote bush and teddy bear cholla, while much of the flatter desert floor is dominated by creosote bush. Two cinder cones are seen in the middle distance.
