DESERT WILDFLOWERS

Seasonal rains lead to the blooming of many desert wildflowers, adding colour to the desert, as well as providing important sources of nectar or pollen for insects. The images below show some of the common wildflowers seen along roadsides in the Arizona desert and desert grasslands in Spring, 2001.
